Q: What type of shirts do you use?

Every piece of clothing sold by Shuttlecock Ink comes from American Apparel, with whom we have a wholesale/resale relationship. This means that we buy product wholesale from them, print our smashing designs on them and resell them to our customers. They may cost a little more, but we are proud to offer American Apparel products because of their corporate mission. Read more about American Apparel at this web address:

Q: What does “sweatshop free” mean?

This is part of the American Apparel mission. All of their employees, including factory cutters and sewers, are given a competitive benefits package including medical plans and paid days off. Also, with American Apparel, every stage of product construction is completed in downtown Los Angeles, with safe and fair working conditions. There is no out-sourcing to other companies or other countries.

Q: Are the “unisex” shirts better for men or women?

The Shuttlecock Ink “Unisex” shirts are American Apparel Men’s Short-Sleeve Fine Jersey T-Shirts. While American Apparel markets them for men, we have found that women who don’t like wearing the tighter-fitting girly tees, also really like these. They aren’t super long like some men’s tees and they look really cute when they’re cut up to custom fit, like we know some women like to do.

Q: How do I know what size shirt I should buy?

Q: Can I return or exchange something that I ordered?

We want everyone to be ecstatic about their Shuttlecock Ink purchases. We will accept exchanges and returns as long as the items have not been worn, washed or altered in any way.

If you ordered the wrong size or style and want to get something else of the same value follow these steps:

1) send us an email telling us what you ordered and what you'd rather have; we'll tell you if we have it in stock and if we do we'll set it aside
2) send the item(s) you have back to us
3) after we receive your package, we'll ship out your new smashing stuff!

We can't front the cost of you shipping back exchanges, but we will cover the cost of shipping one exchange. If you change your mind more than once, we'll have to charge you for more shipping.

If you just want to return something and you bought it online through Paypal, follow these steps:

1) send us an email and tell us why you don't want to keep it (and please don't hurt our feelings)
2) send the item(s) you have back to us
3) we will arrange a refund through Paypal less the shipping cost.

Q: You don’t have the size I want. What should I do?

By all means, let us know! Send an email to info@shuttlecockink.com and tell us exactly what product and size you would like to see available. If we’re just momentarily out of it, we will let you know when it becomes available again. If it’s not something that we’re currently offering, we will definitely take your suggestion to heart and let you know if we decide to add it to our line of products.

Q: Can I get a shirt in a different color?

Our shirt designs are unique and explicitly created for maximum smashing effect. This includes every aspect of design, even the shirt color. So, the shirt color options are limited, but expressly and deliberately chosen. But if we don’t have a shirt in the color you’re looking for, send an email to info@shuttlecockink.com and make a suggestion. Also, be sure to join the mailing list; we may be adding more colors in the future and you'll definitely be the first to know.

Q: Where do you get your ideas?

All of our ideas come from the two brains of Shuttlecock Ink, Ivy and Rebecca. All of our ideas are things that make us smile. They are also, most definitely, things that we enjoy wearing so we hope that you do, too.
